Senior Assistant Superintendent
Yeamans Hall Club
Charleston, SC
Course Operation:
Built in 1925 by Seth Raynor, Yeamans Hall Club is located just outside of Charleston, South Carolina. Currently ranked number 2 in the state by Golf Digest and 38th in the country by Golfweek, Yeamans Hall is truly a hidden gem. It plays host to the College of Charleston’s annual Cougar Classic which features some of the top collegiate women’s golf teams in the country. The course consists of 419 bermudagrass tees/ fairways, and 15 year old Champion ultradwarf greens.
Duties: Yeamans Hall Club is currently looking for a Senior Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Under the Golf Course Superintendent’s supervision, the Assistant directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course, supporting the Superintendent at all times and in all phases. In addition, the individual will be responsible for the day-to-day management and scheduling of the golf maintenance staff, discipline and evaluation, chemical/fertilizer planning, application and tracking, assisting in the construction of the annual maintenance budget and agronomic calendar, water management, departmental expenditures and tracking. This position may serve in the Superintendent’s capacity during absences. Ideal candidate is a highly motivated, self-starter who has a passion for the mission of the club and this industry. Must possess impeccable integrity and be able to effectively communicate and lead members of the department.
Salary: $40,000.

Requirements: Candidate must have a 2 or 4 year degree, pervious Assistant experience and at least one internship completed during college.

Assistant Superintendent

Course Operation:
Private 18 Hole Gary Player Design. Tifdwarf greens, 419 fairways, tees and rough. Facility includes 10 tennis courts, pool, fitness center. The assistant will work under direct supervision of the golf course superintendent responsible for entire golf course and clubhouse grounds.
Duties: Responsibilities include management of all golf course staff leading and directing day to day operation. Responsible for calibration, fertilizing, irrigation, spraying and record keeping. Must be proficient with excel spreadsheets. Minor course condition improvement project leader.
Salary: Based on qualifications.
Benefits: Benefit package includes insurance, dental, and vision. Golf and all Association dues.
Requirements: Minimum of 2-4 years in Agronomy and Soils, Horticulture or related field. Must have 2-4 years of experience in related Turf Management. Georgia Pesticide license required or obtain within 6 months.

Assistant Superintendent
The Landings Club

Savannah, GA
Course Operation:
Located on Skidaway Island, The Landings Club is one of the largest private member owned communities in the United States. The club consists of 6 courses designed by Tom Fazio, Arthur Hills, Arnold Palmer, and Willard Byrd. The grasses include TifEagle greens, 419 Bermuda/Zoysia tees, and 419 Bermuda fairways/roughs. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Superintendent and act as a team player providing new ideas and thoughts on a day-to-day basis.
Duties: Responsible for a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. Supervises the daily preparation of the golf course, i.e hole location, tee markers, rakes, hazard and out of bounds markers. Performs sprayer and fertilizer spreaders calibration. Assists in spraying pesticides, applying fertilizers on greens, tees and fairways. Inspects turf, shrubs, and other outdoor Club areas to assess pesticide and fertilizer needs and applies as needed to maintain excellent condition of grounds and golf course.
Salary: $35,000 - $38,000.
Benefits: Full benefit package including health, dental, vision, 401k, golf, meals.
Requirements: Educational: A minimum of 2 – 4 year degree in agronomy, horticulture, plant or soil sciences desired. Experience: Prior warm season turf management is a plus. Special: Must have the ability to obtain a GA pesticide license within 90 days of hire.

Horticulturist
The River Club

Course Operation:
The River Club is a private country club located in Suwanee. Amenities include an 18 hole golf course designed by Greg Norman, clubhouse, swim and tennis facilities.
Duties: Responsible for all plant material on the golf course, clubhouse grounds and swim and tennis facility. This will include but not limited to bed design and installation; irrigation repair and scheduling; fertility; pesticide application; mowing; pruning; scouting; developing long term landscape plan for the golf course.
Salary: $15 - $17 per hour.
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, after one year of employment. Golf privileges. Uniforms and Meals
Requirements: Two or four year degree in Horticulture is required with at least three to five years experience in a similar operation. Knowledge of irrigation and troubleshooting is recommended. Must have or the ability to obtain a pesticide license within six months.
