Assistant Superintendent

Woodland Hills Golf Club

Duties: The Assistant is responsible for assisting with the directing, coordinating and the supervision of the maintenance crew. The Assistant must help keep accurate records of weather as it relates to maintenance needs.  The employee must function as an active worker on such projects as fertilization, application of chemicals, construction and mechanics as well as take responsibility for purchasing and budgeting as requested.
Salary: Competitive salary based on experience.

Requirements: The candidate for this position should have good knowledge of agronomy, chemical application, construction and maintenance and a complete understanding of the utilization and operation of all golf course equipment.  The position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to lead by example, good communication skills and good knowledge of the game of golf.  This position requires the employee to have sufficient proficiency in spoken and written English to communicate effectively with members and guests to ensure that service is provided to them in a professional and responsive manner, and to communicate with co-workers to ensure that job responsibilities are performed in an efficient, effective and safe manner.The Assistant Superintendent will be required to work some holidays and weekends as necessary.

Assistant Grounds Superintendent

Cherokee Town & Country Club
Atlanta, GA

Course Operation: Cherokee Town and Country Club is an Atlanta private club established in 1956. It consists of two separate facilities; a Buckhead Town Club with dining, tennis, swimming, and fitness, and the Country Club, 12 miles north in Sandy Springs with 36 holes of golf, dining, swimming, and fitness.
Duties: Operation of mowing equipment and use of weed eater to maintain manicured lawn areas around club grounds. Operation of reel type or walking greens mower. Assist in planning work schedules and performing daily maintenance tasks while not interfering with tennis, swimming, and meetings or dining experiences. Communication with corresponding managers Town Club Manager, Director of Tennis, Director of Fitness, etc., is necessary. Monitoring Irrigation and performing watering tasks of turf areas, landscape beds, planters, newly installed plant material, trees. Performing proper pruning techniques for all plant material and proper application of fertilizers, insecticides and herbicides. Maintenance including edging, strawing /mulching, fertilizing, weeding of landscape beds.Chemical and fertilizer applications, irrigation maintenance, crew management, projects and other golf course maintenance tasks.
Salary: $17 - $21 per hour, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Duties: Druid Hills Golf Club is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our team! We are looking for a self-motivated, detail oriented, team player with a desire to learn and grow in the industry and one day become a Superintendent. JOB SUMMARY Assists the Superintendent in maintaining the golf course and any other associated grounds. This is a management position that will report directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. The Assistant Superintendent may serve in the Superintendent’s capacity during his/her absence. The Assistant Superintendent will be involved in planning and executing agronomic and cultural programs for the property, and will be responsible for overseeing and training all staff on safety, and proper care and use of equipment. The Assistant Superintendent will train, scout, and work with the Spray Technician and Irrigation Technician. This position is a co-Assistant position that will work closely with another Assistant to manage the day-to-day operation. Projects a positive image of self and Druid Hills Golf Club at all times.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS• Occasional sitting • Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, pulling. • Exposure to loud noise levels and chemicals.
